Joe is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland.
Joe has over 15 years of experience treating and advocating for adults, children, adolescents, and their families in inpatient, outpatient, therapeutic school, and facility-based respite care settings. His clinical experience includes treatment of individuals with mood disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, trauma & stressor related disorders, substance use disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Joe recognizes that mood, brain, and behavioral functioning are impacted by many factors, and that treatment planning should be collaborative between clinician and client. He believes that the rapport between clinician and client to be paramount to successful outcomes, and he works to establish healthy therapeutic relationships by creating safe spaces to hold sometimes uncomfortable conversations. Joe utilizes an integration of person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help individuals actualize their goals. He has a psychoeducational and trauma-informed approach to many therapeutic interactions.
Joe received a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Hood College, and a Master of Science in counseling from Hood College.
